During GA/GI Fest at Mostly Mod & ARTica Gallery--MM & AG (5110 Penn) you'll see Pop! Pops of fun, funky flowers! On Friday, May 1, the Pop Des Fluers project will be on hand to discuss their project which has attracted the talents of craftspeople all over Allegheny county in creating over-sized, hand made and crocheted flowers from salvage materials that will soon be installed as public art in Pittsburgh city parks and other locations. Pop Des Fleursis a community outreach project of the Fiberarts Guild, and Fiberarts International 2016. The project began as a way to brighten this past winter and the upcoming winter through outdoor installations, during a time when the sky and months are most dreary. Collections of used clothing, yarn, bags and sheets are being taken for the project, and test installations have been made in Lawrenceville, Southside and other locations.
